My point is that: Given dibra torah bilshon bnei adam - would indicate this audience was versed in Egyptian imagery Further more This constitutes a powerful counter argument against Bible Critics … As far as lack of understanding of the original IDIOM If your parshanut is Halachic based this loss of P'shat is not critical to us. It is sad to lose meaning but not critical And we know via hiskatnu hadoros that meanings were lost This seems pashut
